Description:
Bantianyao, scientifically known as C. sinensis cv. Bantianyao, is one of the five famous tea cultivars of Wuyi Mountain. It originated from the mountainside of Sanhua Peak in Jiulongke. Bantianyao is a shrub-type late-maturing cultivar, with dense green leaves and thick and brittle leaf texture. Its leaf buds are purple-red in color. Due to the slightly lower temperatures at higher elevations, Bantianyao buds sprout later, mostly in early May. Bantianyao is suitable for making oolong tea.
The appearance of Bantianyao tea leaves is tight and compact, with a dark green-brown color. Due to its unique growing environment without surface pollution, only birds and butterflies can pollinate the flowers, resulting in a pure and fragrant aroma and a long-lasting honey-like fragrance.
The tea soup of Bantianyao is golden-yellow and clear, with a rich flavor and a refreshing aftertaste. It exhibits a distinct rock rhyme, and the tea leaves remain soft and bright after brewing.
