Description:
Da Hong Pao is one of the precious varieties of Wuyi Rock Tea, belonging to the category of semi-fermented Oolong tea. Originally cultivated on the steep cliffs of Jiulongke in the Tianxin Rock area of Wuyi Mountain, Fujian, the surviving mother trees of Da Hong Pao number only six, with an annual yield not exceeding one kilogram. The Da Hong Pao that we can currently enjoy is derived from these mother trees through asexual reproduction. After evaluation by relevant experts, the cultivated Da Hong Pao retains the excellent characteristics and unique flavor of the original mother trees.
This tea is harvested from the second-generation trees that resulted from asexual reproduction of the original Da Hong Pao mother tree. With no blending, it preserves the authentic taste of the original Da Hong Pao to the greatest extent. The dry tea leaves are tightly twisted, robust, and have a good oily texture. The medium roasting process imparts a sharp and rich aroma, while the tea soup exhibits a deep orange-yellow color. Even after eight infusions, the lingering fragrance remains.
